To understand the options and features included on our standard outdoor and washdown units
Pfannenberg currently offers 3 different versions of the DTS 3000 Series Cooling units in:
- Indoor - NEMA Type 12
- Outdoor - NEMA Type 3R/4
- Washdown - NEMA 4/4X
Pfannenberg's AC units (except for the DTS 3021 /31/31SS) come with a condensate management inside of the units. As condensation generate and falls downward, the condensate tray will boil the water off.
Key Features for Outdoor and Washdown Units
Pfannenberg's outdoor and washdown units are equipped with a sump heater on the compressor to safeguard against low ambient conditions. This feature prevents the compressor oil from becoming too cold, which could lead to the compressor seizing up. The sump heater on Pfannenberg's units is designed to effectively maintain a suitable temperature for the compressor oil, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of the unit.
Outdoor and washdown units are equipped with an epoxy-coated evaporator coil and compressor piping that is hand-painted with epoxy on the external side of the unit. This protective coating helps prevent corrosive gases and other corrosive elements, like saltwater vapor, from causing corrosion on the metals exposed to the elements. By safeguarding against corrosion, this feature ensures the longevity and optimal performance of the AC unit.
Low Ambient Option
Pfannenberg offers a low-ambient version on most outdoor and washdown AC units that includes low ambient fan control and a heater inside of the unit. The low ambient fan control is to prevent the condenser fan from turning on in low ambient conditions when it could potentially cause damage to the refrigeration circuit.
The enclosure heater inside of it can be wired to a thermostat (included with the low ambient option) and can be used in two different scenarios: to prevent condensation within the enclosure and protect components from low ambient conditions. Any relative humidity above 60-65% has potential for condensation to occur.
